Is there any way to have pointer functionality in Squirrel so the code below would work?

Code:

local a = 1
local b = 2

function func( p1, p2 )
{
    p1 = 3
    p2 = 4
}

func( a, b )

print (a+"\n") // should print 3
print (b+"\n") // should print 4
